Is this grass drought tolerant?

I also live in the Bay Area and need to know if this grass qualifies with our current drought conditions.

    This is a native grass, and is drought tolerant, but will brown up if not watered through the summer. To maintain it as a green meadow grass, it needs regular summer irrigation.

    I really like this grass-is this its full mature size or does it need mowing? What is the genus/species (wondering if it's something we could get here in Oregon)?
