Local big box store is having a clearance sale. The dahlias have 4-5 inch leggy sprout(s) in the plastic bag.

Are they still good to buy and plant ?

Sure are! Lots of zone 5/6/7 growers are just finishing up their planting for the season.

yep! I plant them at different times. First ones I put in on April 4th are coming in really nice, then I did some the end of April, early may, mid may, end of may, and just put in the last group on Monday. I think last year I didn't get some in the ground until the end of June and they came up really nice..unfortunately though we had an early freeze so they froze just after flowering their first buds..so late June may not be smart timing-wise. but now, go for it = )

Is Lavender Perfection a relatively "early" bloomer ? Four (was 7.98) dollars for a bag of 3 clumps
