bosch 800 series, GE profile, or Miele Dishwasher?

We are replacing our 25 year old GE dishwasher and need some advice as to what to purchase. We are a large family and absolutley need a workhorse machine. It will run once maybe twice in one day or more! I want clean dishes and could care less about noise. I dont mind some water on the dishes. We never use heated dry with the DW we have now. Ive looked at Bosch, GE and Miele. I dont want to spend more than 1500 on this appliance unless someone can convince me that its worth it. We live in an area with hard water but we have a Whole House water softener. What do you all recommend? This same type of question has been asked numerous times and I've spent hours pouring over past threads on the subject only to still be absolutely unsure which way to go. Some of the discussions are several years old, so I'm posing the question again hoping to get some new insight! Thanks in advance everyone!

When my kitchen remodel was done in 2006, we went with a GE Profile from Lowes that was $700. It has repaired about 7 times in the course if a year. Lowes took it back and have us store credit that we used for an Electrolux Wave Touch at $1200. It never worked right for 2 months. Lowes then refunded us back.

After being without a unit for the next 2 years, I did some research and decided to go with the Miele Diamante Plus at $1500. I've had it 5 years now and would only ever go with another Miele dishwasher in the future. Even though it doesn't have a heating element, the drying is fine. Only some plastic cups will pond some water on the top, or some Tupperware items need hand dried.

GE is not even in the same league as bosch and miele.

I'd get a miele /G4925 at a thousand bucks or less and not look back.

The GE dishwashers I have used have all been terrible. I didn't choose them so maybe they were bottom of the line, but I'd really hesitate to ever buy a GE dishwasher.

I have purchased three bosch dishwashers--different houses. First two were bottom of the line, currently own an 800 series. All three have worked very well. The only negative I have is that I don't care for the stainless on my Bosch dishwasher. It's much harder to get clean than the frigidaire stainless on my range and refrigerator.

We have an 800 series Bosch that we've been using for about three months in our family cabin. When we are altogether, we are feeding 14; since this dishwasher holds place settings for 16, it works really well for us. It has the extra rack on top for utensils, or small items like ramekins, etc. It is also super quiet. Dishes come out really clean. We bought the panel ready model and so I cannot speak to the stainless steel. We are happy with our decision so far and plan to replace the dishwasher in our condo another 800 series Bosch.
