Our new home is under construction with an attempt to feel like an older home with board and batten, wide trim, big country porch, etc. We are using a 4"reveal on our Hardie siding, and the house is all white with windows clad in black. Is there a standard or more common spacing used for the board and batten? We have quite a bit on the house, so not sure if the 4" reveal on the lap siding makes a big difference. Also, we like the windows to be more substantial, so should be use 5.5 inch trim or 3.5 inch trim on the exterior? All trim and siding is white. Any help is appreciated and we are in a huge rush! Siders start tomorrow! :)
