    The laundry is beautiful but an unfunctional design. The standard washer/dryer is 39 inches tall. Add 12 inches for the drawer. This makes the controls 8 feet high. If you are married to the Jolly Green Giant and he loves doing laundry, you are in great shape!

    Actually we are doing the same in our laundry room. Bottom drawer will be a step. I am 5' tall. Will post pics when done next week.

    Swamp--What a great idea! You will have added functionality to this layout. I suppose one could place the washer/dryer on the floor, adding a shelf above the units; yet the new front load washers seem so low for getting clothes in and out. Your plan will solve that!
