Accent Wall?

So I just moved into this apartment. They said we are allowed to paint or wallpaper the dark green wall. I am going to be buying new furniture as well. I won't be painting the cream colour walls and I would love some advice on some warm paint colours for the accent wall or some patterned wall paper. I will likely be getting light couches and dark wood coffee table and end tables if that helps! I love a bit of modern but with a softness to it.

I would choose your couch fabric first before you decide on paint colors. It's much more challenging to find the perfect sofa that is both comfortable and that you love. It is much easier to find a paint color once you have a fabric in her hand.

You've gotten some great ideas from both Judy and Sandraclark.....but I agree with Karen's advice. I know it's tempting to paint first before the new furniture comes in. But in the long run, you'll be glad you followed Karen's advice. :-)

So, just decide on your large upholstered pieces and finalize your fabric decisions. While waiting on delivery, get those fabric samples and compare them with your favorite paint samples at home (in various lighting conditions).

In the meantime, you may also want to find an "inspiration piece" for your space....like a rug or art work. This will also help guide your choices for style and accent colors.

At that point, if you still would like ideas/suggestions, post pics of your fabric samples and inspiration piece. This will help Houzzers hone in on more meaningful suggestions for you.

The couch you have is good ! Modern usually looks good monochrome with one large piece in a bright color as a focus color in the room ...
Monochrome looks good in different shades of one base color according to light and balance in triangles ...!
Try it ! Squint & look all around in the room with all the lights abounding !!! Your minds eye will tell you what looks best ......
