Need help on carpet color!

We just moved into a new house and plan to replace the carpet. We are stuck on choosing a good color that will match the existing paint. Attached are some pics of the current rooms where we will replace the carpet and a sample of carpet colors to choose from. I realize it's hard to tell the color of walls in pics and the color looks different during different times of the day, but any help would be appreciated!

Select a carpet color you like and can live with long term. Then paint the walls a lighter or darker version of that color. You will be happier in the long run, rather than living with someone else's choices.

I would go with the grey. you have a lot of beige paint and this will help ground it a bit.

I was also considering painting the master bedroom light grey, but don't know what would be better- pick the carpet color you like and change the paint, or pick the carpet that matches the existing paint.

Paint is easy to change. Ideally, you look at the chips for both at the same time, but if there's a carpet color you like, start there.

Hi, on the left hand side and count 5 down. That sample will provide enough vadiation to blend or enhance.

I agree with a bit of a darker carpet if there are young children. A light color will show stains very easily and will have to be cleaned constantly.

Yes, we do have young children. I definitely want something that would be practical. We would also be doing the stairs in this color.
