its a blessing it was discontinued, honest! it would have been a different lot of the same color and it wouldnt have matched. and you would have owned it and been disappointed.

your idea is sound, but find a new tile of a not a similar color, and an accent tile that has both your foyer color and the new color in it. i'll have a look and if i find any idea photos i'll share.

how about this? it's tile to hardwood but i think tile to tile would be just as good. go big, so it doesnt look like a patch/mistake.

I agree. Don't try to match the old too close. Find something that coordinates well and then come up with a way to transition between the two.

As you can see the darker tan tile is in the foyer with a accent piece in the middle that contains both colors set as a diamond shape, then this lighter tile runs across the hallway past the dining room and into the kitchen....these are the two carpeted rooms that I wanted to with tile or put wood....afraid the wood would need a higher threshold and be too choppy.....suggestions?
