Like the rag rug. Looks like your pop of color is orange (I see that in the pillow and vase). I would look for something that has a strong orange geometric pattern unless you want to focus on another color and change out the pillow.

Thank you all so much! I love rag rugs, so I think that's a great idea. I was worried about going overboard with colors -- there's both orange and fuchsia -- but I like the idea of a colorful rah rug with both of those colors represented. Great pendant light from Houzz, too!

Your room is lovely! Before adding a rug...now would be the time to coordinate with fabric and pillows for a really complete look. I would reupholster the two brown chairs with indoor/outdoor solid fabric (you could even whitewash the chairs for a lighter feel), add coordianted pillows on all four chairs and use a striped indoor/outdoor rug. See first picture below in how room flows with the repeats in color, even though the chairs are all different. You may not like the style or color combintions below, but hope they provide food for thought. I would also suggest a large chaandlier vs something too small and a large potted plant vs the plant stand to give some weight/interest to that corner.

Maureen, I can't believe you posted that overdyed rug. I've looked longingly at one just like it for months! I love my two cane chairs. I got them second-hand and reupholstered them. The orange pillows actually are orange and pink, so I think they do look pretty coordinated. I'm posting a close up of the patterned one. I'm also posting a photo so you can see the top of the curtains. I noticed the other photos didn't show the rods, and I think they are striking and add interest to the room... Love the large plant idea. I'm already working on that.

The vibrancy and coordination of the fabric shows so much better in these shots. The cane also looks much lighter, which is nice and I love the patterned fabric. Hope you can find a rug that works with these colors. Have fun with your accessories/layering, etc. and it's easy to bring home items and try them out. Good luck.

I would like to see a jute type rug in your sun room as they have a calming and natural look they have them with a long fringe at USA Rugs on line :) would go good with all your pop's of color elsewhere !

I wish I could photoshop all these into the room... My mom suggested jute, too. Hmmm, maybe I will have to try that first and see how it looks because I can get one locally and return if it's not what I like. Here is a pendant I'm looking at; it's from Grandin Road.

Since it is a sun room you should keep the rug light in color-picking up the accent tones in your pillows. For a light fixture I suggest something fun like Quoizel's Laila 3 Light Rustic Chandelier. You can view the fixture at lampsusa.com You did an excellent job on the room.

Call me crazy, but I think a round rug might help define that corner as the "conversation" lounge. Check Home Decorators online for some very affordable options.

Also, this time of year IKEA sells these amazing wood decking pallets that could be laid down in the corner to create a slightly elevated conversation area.

Awesome, two things I hadn't thought about. I was just at IKEA recently for the curtains but might be heading to Cincinnati in a couple weeks and could check out those pallets. Would there not be a weird transition between the pallets and the cement? I will have to check out more pics online.

Lovely work! I would look into a product called "FLOR" - you can design what you want, and it can be washed! Also it doesn't move due (slip) and is made with re-cycled materials. It's affordable and looks fantastic.

Consider a light fixture with some bling -- the mirror frame has some, but a bit more glam might add a nice touch.

Oh my, you've created a room that makes you want to linger! The curtain addition made a remarkable difference as did painting the floor.

I'm not sure where you live or if that room is warm enough in the winter, but let me recommend a miniature banana tree for that room. They grow about 6 feet tall after about one year and actually produce small bananas that you can eat. They come in the mail and grow a new leaf approximately every week. Love the idea of a rag rug, but would equally like a colorful striped rug. Geo print would be too uniform for such an eclectic space I think.
