If it were my rabbit I'd seek out a vet that specializes in exotics but if you can't afford an x-ray then you probably can't afford other tests. Maybe you can show your current vet the links above and see if he wants to try other treatments.

My sweet bunny is gone. I did get a 2nd opinion and Dr's comment was that without blood tests, MRI, x-rays, it was impossible to tell exactly what was wrong but that knowing for certain didn't necessarily mean it was curable, quickly or over an extended period of treatment. He speculated his tilt head was a result of an inner ear infection. Couldn't explain front leg paralysis. Towards the end, his eyes became cloudy and he developed a heavy white eye discharge. He ate and drank well to the end, but his elimination became less and less and he lost almost a pound, a lot for a little guy. (Perhaps internal organs were failing?) It appeared to me that the Metacam provided some comfort to him but no true improvement.

Oh my, that's too bad. Poor little thing. It's possible he could not have been helped even with the expenditure of lab work, x-rays, etc. You did your best. I hope you will get another pet to love, not that he can be replaced, of course. Was his name "Bunny?"

awww, i'm so sorry you lost newman. he was a pretty little guy! (((hugs))) i know how hard it is to lose a beloved pet, as most of us here probably do. <3
