i like this since you have colors elsewhere. very calm to read. it doesnt have to be a full-blown library to have maps and botanical prints and feel a bit studious.

I suggest white twill slipcovered elements so that you can transition the accent colors through the seasons .. dog can have a bed here, jump on things that can be washed ..

coral is for christmas, pastels featuring aqua for easter / spring and naval blues for fall. I'd be tempted to paint this ceiling a soft aqua ..

Must suggest you rethink the wood blinds in this area. Here, they will always block some of your view and the woodtones will darken the space. Ceiling hung linen shades that can provide a valance when open or give you privacy when closed will do more to help this room reach its potential - you want this space to flow, but feel wholly different than the rest of the house . . that is what a sunroom is about .. the wall color and flooring tie it together enough . . consider a different approach to the windows. Your view - even from this peekaboo vantage . is to die for. Don't cover it up.

Libradesigneye - I like the idea of slipcovered seating with colorful pillows. The blinds are white and they will need to stay as we spent $ on them. Since we have a new house going up to our side, the blinds will give us needed privacy at night. Thinking of a sisal area rug too. How would I go about purchasing seating to be slipcovered? Do I buy cheaper? Don't want to spend a whole lot of $ for this room since we already have for all the other rooms in the house. We have a ceiling fan with white wicker look paddles in this room too. I'd like to get a tropical feel in this room. Oh... and since it would be used for reading, would four comfortable chairs facing each other with a large colorful padded hassock be better than a couch and chairs?

Ikea has great slipcovered stuff in ektorp which is classic and very comfortable, but cheaper to you might be pottery barn . . also, you can get aftermarket real linen slipcovers for ikea stuff at bemz online - and time that later in a year or two Then no one would ever guess unless you confess . . .four chairs sounds great if they all had ottomans . . not sure that fits the vision. I suspect four isn't always going to be enough for the people who want to sit out here . . you might add some narrow wood benches like side tables under the windows so people can perch for the view . . when you have parties and the weather is nice, people will congregate here . . not sure what the make up of that crowd is or I might go further . . if you want to read to a little one, a chair is not big enough for two . . a sofa also allows a nap in a way that an ottoman does not . .

what about two chairs and ottomans with slipcovers aimed at the best view . . maybe for now . . a picnic sort of narrow plank table with X supports and separated benches (could be a real found yard sale table and benches or could be a "contractor, how much for your new guy make me a simple rustic table and camp benches with pine" sort of thing - find a simple internet version you like and ask -it won't be more than materials and a guys time that way). Paint it a pretty shade of blue or use a dark off white in the brown direction to wash the wood. This could be really versatile . . you might take it apart for everyday - use the table like a sofa table behind the chairs to hold lamps and books, or put it off center away from the door as you first come into the room and treat it like a library table where you stack books, have a nice sheet wrapped lampbase (oops, should have said, sailing rope). Maybe a pair of padded seat/ or slipcovered upright chairs (ikea used to have these too) that you can pull up to the ends for coffee and newspaper . . sitting down with paper and pen . . spreading mail out . . .a place to drop your outdoor things down without worrying over mussing some precious surface . .

Check with re-sell furniture shops, Not sure where you live on coast, but in my area, there are tons of them. You can pick up ,most of the items you need for a good price.

If you do a 4 chair conversation area, stick one of these in the corner for a quiet reading nook.

Sunroom windows that go as low as you have them make it difficult to place furniture. Plan on sparsely decorating the narrow space. It may turn out that you place most of the furniture against the full wall (assumption) that is to your back. This would have you facing looking out the windows at all times.

We design and install sun rooms very often and find them to be the most used space in the home, next to the kitchen.

Your sunroom will be bright, really bright, during the daytime which is great for reading.

I'm betting you have comfy chairs and sofas is other parts of the house, so why not let this room stand apart? Chaise lounges against either side wall, indoor outdoor fabrics on seats and cushions, a table centereed at the end of the room for books/ letter writing, and lots of plant material to keep things lush.

Construction Guaranteed - I agree with your comments about not crowding the space. Currently I have a fake palm in the corner, and two simple aqua mesh chairs and it looks very peaceful. But they're not comfortable to really relax and read. We like to put our feet up. I think it will only accommodate a 5 X 7 rug, which I'm thinking sisal to be natural. Keeping it simple makes us want to walk into the room to look out the windows. Since the living room is adjacent, loaded with furniture, simplicity would need to be the key. But I want something that will make us comfortable while reading and thinking about nothing!

If you don't want to spend a lot of money on slipcovered furniture check out IKEA. I've had the Ikea Ektorp for years. I didn't expect it to last this long but it has help up very well. I like the option to change the covers seasonally. In sunrooms I always like to put something that facilitates an afternoon nap; maybe a chaise or sofa.

The only thing that makes me hesitate buying online is not being able to sit in the furniture to see if they are comfortable. In a showroom, I'm like Goldilocks, going from seat to seat!

Najeebah - Thanks for asking! Since it's a coastal home and I live up North, nothing except for the planning. I have a very comfty glider with a hassock here, and have searched online for a company (Best Home Furnishings)that has these and the fabric choices are plentiful, even coastal. A store near where our coastal home is, sells the brand so I think I'd be able to test them out there. So, I am thinking I will start with choosing a large round hassock in colorful fabric, then choose the glider fabric to go with that. I'll do two chairs for now. And then the rug, hoping sisal, as the last choice. The ceilings are high, so if I can convince my husband to get out his tools, I'd like to install white shelves above the windows, only on the two walls, and they would give me an opportunity to gather colorful coastal things as I find them in the cute shops down there. Going down next week!! :D+

The ottoman was purchased at a furniture store here in PA, and I chose the fabric. Wanted it festive and fun. I'd like to do something over the wall of windows since the ceilings are high, though my husband thinks it would make the room too busy looking. Over the door leading to the back porch I have hung aqua painted metal sea turtles, a momma and her two little ones. Whimsical! It's not a large room. The floor rug is 8 X 10, allowing for a foot or two of hardwood floor along the perimeter. This room is our favorite. Southern exposure with water, shrubs, and lots of lawn. So blessed!
