High vaulted ceilings: dining table illumination?

We are trying to figure out the best lighting option for our dining room area. It's part of an open concept room with 15' vaulted ceilings. The table is 38x78 and will be centered under the spine of the ceiling. We can't decide if we should use small pendant lights (low voltage or line) or just one light fixture. Any thoughts?

just one fixture. your table isnt *that* long that it needs multiples of fixtures, and you can consider buying a linear (rectangular) chandelier.

One chandelier is a great option for a table of that size. Choosing a chandelier that makes a statement adds character to the area.
