The combo doesn't grab me though I like each item individually. I think I like chairs more than I do the table but, that is a personal opinion and not a professional one. I'll try to look at my resources and see if I have a table suggestion for you. Thanks for sharing. :)

Love the chairs but not with the table. Do you already have the table? If not, I'm sure you could find a more contemporary styled table that would work better with those great chairs!

IMO the ghost chair is perfect with this table a little edgy but not crazy.

Jenna, here is more like the kind of combination I would consider. For the modern chair with 4 legs I think a modern pedestal table works well. For the white "Transitional" table to give it a more modern "vibe" I like a chair with no leg or a seat look that will work with the transitional design lines of the white pedestal table you are showing. Also, modern white chairs with dramatic curvy lines seem to work well with traditional white table too. I'm sure there are other possibilities but, I will get you started with a couple of ideas here. If you love modern leather chairs more than white round table I think a "steel" table would go great with gray leather chairs. Here is a stainless steel table I have saved as a favorite of mine on www.overstock.com. It is not round but, a rectangle but, you can see the material blend of steel with gray leather in visual I posted here. I think this is everything now that comes to mind for me on this design dilemma. Thanks for posting question.

Thank you for all the helpful comments. I actually completely changed course. I wasn't finding what I wanted in white, so I purchased this dark wood table. I'm thinking of pairing with the below metal chairs. Good idea? Terrible idea? Go!

it is very difficult to determine exactly what would go colour wise without knowing the rest of the décor of the room they are to be positioned in e.g. if you have plenty of other grey and white furniture or furnishing's then it could work well. What I find hard on the eye is not so much the colour but the form of the two difference pieces. The table is very round and has lovely curves but the table has very hard squares and rectangles and I am sure that there could be a better combination e.g. chairs with a curved upper seat may sit better together. You might be able to have a look in a furniture store and put similar pieces together to give you a better idea of what might work but it wouldn't be my first choice, but I always say "go with what you like - what you feel comfortable with". If you don't have the items yet and you don't have grey tones in your room maybe consider a set of black chairs and some black and white scatter cushions and nick knacks, vases etc.

Sorry I just noticed that you have now changed the table and brought the brown wooden one. The original choice of chair would work better with this table but again I would select a different colour - grey is not right. Brown or Black would be best for this new table. While the metal chairs are the current trend. I think they are not quite right for the table and they will go out of fashion as quickly as they came in. They suit a more industrial type environment. I would go with traditional wood or your original leather at least you know you will then get your money's worth from your investment and you are not left trying to get rid of out of date metal chairs in a couple of years.

NO! The chairs would be a great contrast with the table and speak to your design confidence. Just make sure they're comfortable first, and if so, go for it. But remember the table is about more than just tables and chairs, so get some great tableware, placemats or table cloths, etc. Go either modern or trad or mix. Too much matching stuff makes you look like you lack imagination.

Jenna, I think you have to see metal chair with table in reality. There are a lot of makers of that chair out in the market place and that particular chair design could have a back that kind of gets lost when the chair is pushed up to table. If chair back height is not over 29" ht. then you may not see chair. Overall chair may feel out of proportion to table but, you have to "mock it up" to see. The initial chair design was meant for "café seating" and café by its very nature means smaller more diminutive size seating and tables. I like both designs for sure.

Also, if you have not sat in a metal chair for a longer duration before or in a metal chair with no cushion then, you may want to try that out first as well before you commit to (4) or more chairs in that design. Chairs can be tricky furniture. I have been fitting clients for chairs for years and the right fit can be as challenging as fitting clothing or shoes!

Since the Tambouret chair you selected is very affordable, I checked to see what other "affordable" chairs I had recently seen that might look good with the table you bought and be worth further research and consideration.
