I've only watered it with pure water. I put if in a part of the garden that only gets like 2 hours of sun, so it can get use to the transition of getting no sun at the store to getting some sun at home. I got it in Home Depot, like a week or so ago. I don't know what's happening to it :( Yes, I'm in PR. The temperature here on a regular day is around 85-90F. Humidity levels are at 99-100% always outside.

When you say "Pure water" what do you mean? Only rainwater, distilled or reverse osmosis water should be used. No tap or bottled waters.

Too much water? I like to let mine dry out a bit between waternings so the roots dig deeper.

I think I can see water in your dish, but just in case there isn't, your pot should have drain holes. If it does, and that is water in the dish, then your medium also looks very soggy. The plant could be responding negatively to the very wet conditions, The problem occurring from the bottom of the leaf and going up also seems to agree on some kind of problem with the section of the plant in the medium, eg root rot.

Yes, it looks like root rot, probably because of too much water and not enough sun or heat so the substrate is always wet.

Try to leave the plant without the plate for a day or two. The ideal would be to check the rhyzome and remove any dead tissue.
