Yes, a cutting can bloom without roots. Pinch the bloom off because you want all the strength to go to making roots. I don't think you need to mist it every day. I don't mist mine cuttings at all. Is the cuttings in your house or outside? I only check the soil to make sure it has not dried out. It only needs to be moist. I will only add a tiny bit of water if the soil is dry. I usually harden mine off over the weekend because I work through the week. Some of my cuttings have been in my little propagation chamber since May 27th and only one has shown roots so far.

Three weeks seems early so I'd just pinch the bud and leave it alone for a while. If you want to harden it off put it in dappled shade for a few days and then gradually out into more sun. Keep misting the cutting every day though. They like high humidities.

Do i wait till i see roots to harden it off... or since it has growth should i go ahead and harden it off now? I have it outside on the north side of the house. It is in the shade- and isn't getting an direct sun. How long should it come out of its little dome, before i put it back under the dome? Thanks.

Wait until you see really good roots. I don't root mine using jars or bottles, so cannot advise on that. I root about 40 at a time in a rubbermaid container in my basement. I will slide the lid off a little bit and watch to see if they start to droop. If so, close it back up and wait a few days. If they don't droop, I open it a little more every couple of days until I can finally remove them. Not sure how you would apply that technique to the mason jar.

Keep it under the mason jar until you see roots near the side of the plastic cup. It probably doesn't need misting every day, but it also doesn't hurt. After you see roots, it shouldn't be too hard to adjust the cutting to the outside world.
