Original plan was to add roof and extend porch as a wrap around. Would remove windows above front door.

Now considering going smaller, but deeper with roof and constructing walkway up through the yard. The columns (at least one of them) can't be removed, but,definitely want it (or them) replaced. With the elevation of the house, would we have to have railings? Prefer not to. Would love wide steps up to porch.
