I would place it on the back wall, so that you can have a more ideal seating arrangment. If you place on same wall as tv, you'll have two large pieces on that side of the room and it will also be harder to arrange furniture in that area - but it comes down to what furniture you have and how best it can be arranged in either set up.

Thanks for your suggestions. Just some more information. We are also considering closing two of the arches to make a separate room so it has some privacy. Still struggling with which one will look better, keeping the arches open or closing two to make a separate room? If we close the arches, where would it make more sense to put the piano then?

Which arches would you close? One thing to consider is you will lose quite a bit of lighting by closing them. Is budget an issue? If not, custom french doors to fit each arch would be incredible.

One consideration might be to place it where the sound of the piano would be heard to greatest advantage. I found a YouTube that discusses the expert's opinion on placement.

And on a blog, the advice was: I used to have my upright right up against a wall... maybe 5-6 cm to spare.
Then
I decided to pull it out further, and eventually I find having it not
parallel with the wall, in fact slightly diagonally, works best.
So
this is what I think: Have it 4-5 cm away from the wall at the treble
side, and about 20-30 cm away at the bass. But I believe it'll differ
from piano to piano.

HI -- Actually I was going to ask if you were thinking of taking out the arches . The room would look so much bigger if they were gone . So closing them in is maybe not the best idea. You could do it if you filled that space on each side with etched or frosted tempered glass leaving the center open . Then it won't close it in so much . The rounded arches , are they the only rounded feature in the house or does this go with your decorating . If not , maybe squaring those off is an option and possibly adding some glass French doors to help with the sound .

Pretty sure I hear a piano keeps in tune best away from exterior walls. Maybe if it were about in center as pianist mentioned, it would be highlighted. Even some symmetry on 2 opposite walls with items/ plants?

For that matter, 2 taller plants at back of piano - rug under anchors arrangement.

I had not thought about french doors to close that area, will study that too.

We like the open space, so I was thinking of either keeping the arches as is, or closing two of them for privacy. The arches we were thinking of closing were either the two on the right or two on the left, keeping only one arch open to enter the room. If you have suggestions on which arches to close, please do share. How we close the arches, if we do, will also decide where to put piano in the other room. Taking out the arches is not a choice because it will void the structure warranty.

Good choice, it is always important to keep pianos out of direct sunlight if possible.

Yes to french doors and yes to all three arches having french doors. It would look great to see a piano room through glass doors. It would be a great backdrop to your living room.

It is acoustic piano and not electric. It looks really small compared to how it looked in our previous home. One thing our piano mover suggested was to polish our piano as it has become oxidized with time.

If it's acoustic, then you just need to have it tuned once a year..Keep it a bit away from the wall so it doesn't touch the wall.
