If you have allready tried some chemical products without success, try lemon or vinegar and let us know if it worked.

Try baking soda or white toothpaste. Rub lightly in a very small area to start. You don't want to use anything with a color like those cleansers that look white but then change to blue when they get wet.

If that doesn't work try hydrogen peroxide on a Q-tip again in a tiny area to see what results you get before going to full attack mode. I know marble can be tricky so be careful.

If the stain comes out then seal that area with several coats of heavy duty sealer product.

You are right, it is a circular shape. It started on the one side of the glass and has gradually made its way to extend a little on the other side. My husband swears he didn't leave a shaving cream can there! We stopped using the shower to dry it out, but no change so far. I'll try the tips I've received and let you know what happens! Thanks.

shaving cans generally leave a ring, not a circle, as the center is inset...i think he's off the hook.

You may be able to find a poultice "recipe" on the Marble Institute website.

If none of the homemade recipes work, try to find a local marble restoration company. We have one guy that services our very large metro area and he's a marble genius. It's amazing what he can do. With marble that new, I would want to keep it looking new for awhile.

Marble it is porous by nature and it absorbs pretty much of everything if not sealed. If you don't catch something before it sets, you will end up with a stain like the one you have there.

Most hardware stores carry Powdered Whiting ...make a paste from that and hydrogen peroxide and spread on it to draw what ever that is from marble, leave it for a few min and use warm water to just dampen the area and after use dry cloth and gently rub the surface. After that use distilled water and apply over the area to remove the residue from peroxide etc. If that works, use a dry cloth and rub the surface to bring the shine back.

Before you do this, try on a small stained area and see what the result will be.
