Can you paint the vent the same color as the wall? That way it'll blend in. For the art, how about a gallery wall? Get art that you like at your local favorite gallery or art.com. Start from the back end of the couch (past the lamp), and go to the end of the love seat. Go up to the top of the window wall. Plan art on floor with pieces of brown wrapping paper so you can play with the arrangement before it goes on the wall. Measure twice, put up once! Please post pics when done!

HI -- What does the puppy think of your new place ? For this wall , how about something interesting , like a texture on the horizontal . This could be done with wallpaper ( eg. grasscloth ) with a horizontal texture or re-claimed ( weathered / barn wood ) or clear pine boards that is white or grey washed . And yes paint out the vent to match the wall color to whatever you do on the wall . Then add an oversize / big painting /picture . It can be a painting or a big photo print w/modern frame . Gallery walls are not being done so mush now in favor of the single big Art piece . Put the bigger sofa on the wall and maybe opt out the love seat for a pair of lounge /arm /club chairs . Just remember ... bigger wall you need to do bigger things .

How about switching the sofa to that wall, loveseat looks a little lost then think about ideas suggested above

I'd say your furniture is too small, at least for the moment. Rather than thinking about what to add to the wall, consider it in its entirety. Is there a better seating option there? Can the sofa and loveseat flip? Maybe you could use a second sofa anyway, and the loveseat could be replaced?

i agree that the loveseat is too small. here is a solution if you can't swap them (i am guessing the larger sofa faces a tv)...try inching the larger sofa and loveseat closer to the window wall....

now instead of address one LARGE wall....split it. hand some art or shelves over the loveseat. to the left of the loveseat add a large deep console and have a separate vignette over that one. if you have two vignettes though, be sure that they are different in scale (one large painting or mirror with candle sconces over the console and a large grouping of smaller art over loveseat OR vice versa)

A big wall calls for big stuff. Longer sofa, bookcase, art glass bowl from Crate and Barrel. Books from Amazon, art from Gallery Direct. I painted the vent to match the wall. That alone will make a big difference. Go easy on the variety of colors in your pillows. Stick to shades of teal and coral and the space will be more cohesive.

Hi - Put the TV on a swivel arm wall bracket ,so the TV can be directed to the furniture instead of the furniture being directed to the TV . Also , the furniture doesn't need to be all against the walls either . Can you show us more views of the room please . I think the room might need new bigger furniture . I think you could keep the room fairly minimal with bigger well chosen furniture ... if that is part of your plans . I would not junk it up with too many things such as lots of shelves and bookcases etc. When and if you get new furniture .. do not .. get sets such as you have now with the sofa and love seat and so on. Furniture is only displayed that way in the store and does not mean you have to buy it that way .
