Anyway, whatever type I grow, I'd do all in one color for more visual punch at the mailbox as seen from a distance. We have short medium and tall zinnias and I like best the areas I've planted in a single color for that reason.

Sometimes I buy a mixed packet, let them grow in separate pots until they start blooming so I can group the single colors together. I can get away with transplanting later in the season by putting a ventilated trashcan or lawn chair over the transplant for a day or two until it adjusts. I do love zinnias as do the butterflies.
