What type of wood is the siding? Ipe?

How has the siding held up in the sun? What type of maintenance is required? Does it require sanding or powerwashing? If this is Ipe does it require just wiping the Ipe oil on? Thinking about adding this detail to a home we are building.

    It is Ipe. The oiled finish does fade in direct sunlight. Powerwashing is a good idea anytime you are going to recoat a surface. After that, yes the oil is just wiped on.
