buying lily bulbs in summer?

Hi, I live in N. Louisiana in zone 8...I have a gang of various lilies but all the ones I have I have bought in spring, so I could plant them right away. My question is, if I buy lily bulbs now, in early summer, do I plant them immediately? I mean like, if I buy them on ebay or something. I know they aren't really ever dormant, so would they be in trouble if I obtain them this time of the year? Thanks!
