That's a very small kitchen for a house this size. Is there separate eating area?

If this is an open floor plan, it would be wise to have continuity of the kitchen with a feature in another room. For example, the shaker is fine if that color or those type of handles are reflected somewhere else in the visual plane. Furthermore, the shaker style of cabinet itself can be quite a chameleon if design elements, like inlay, crown molding, up lighting, or figured wood doors are used. The most challenging factor for homeowners when remodeling a large home is to maintain an element of flow throughout the house. Generally a flooring will began that process and is both dramatic and pleasing to most guests. A splash of color accents are always your best friend.
