Lisa, pay no attention to Tatiana's rude and uncalled for remarks. Your house looks so much better! I love the color and the way everything looks fresh, updated and cohesive now. The only suggestion I'd make is to paint the front door a bright color. Really a nice job; much better!

Paint puts a modern and fresh look on the home. I know this is an older post but just wanted to note that it looks nice. Can't believe some people can be so harsh but nevertheless - we all have opinions, right?

I like it. Around here we have lots of Victorians and painted brick is really common.

We have had a lot of people in our neighborhood stop and compliment us on the improvement. After painting the brick, and we did have concerns, we are thrilled with the results. This brick was a one tone brown that was so flat and boring. Thinking of either a red or maybe light blue door. Any suggestions?

Hmmm...maybe a red door would look nice with those pretty red blooms in your hanging pots and window boxes. Red with gray can be nice...just not an orange-y red.

Red, lime green, turquoise.... all would look great.

You can have the painted look without using paint. Our process allows your brick to breathe, as well as being environmentally friendly.

HI -- People that say you should never paint brick are so far behind the times and out of date with their thinking . There are special paints for just about everything now . We painted our house almost thirty years ago and it still is in great shape . No chipping or peeling ... nothing because it can breath . We are going to paint it again but it is just for a color change . We sprayed the paint on and that is much easier than using rollers and faster too. The paint has an elastic type character to it . Any paint store will have this paint that is for brick and masonry and stucco .

The painted brick looks fantastic! With those red flowers and your beautiful American Flag I think a red door would really pop.

Personal taste...go figure. But I love the look of painted brick in due time. Even inside, on a wall or a fireplace.

Well, I think painting brick can offer some outstanding results to homes with drab color. In this case, however, I think the original brick color with the contrasting mortar looked great, and I would have left it alone. I commend the home owners for trying something different, but I much prefer the previous look.

The house looks amazing with the painted brick. I also love red doors! Would you mind sharing the paint color that was used on the bricks? If this were my home, I would consider painting the white garage to a shade a little lighter than your brick color. leave the garage trim area white.

It is your home.....and your choice.....however BEFORE making a drastic change like painting brick, get all the information you will need. I think it looks very nice, however I will paint the front door (I had to enlarge the view to find it). You do not have to choose as bold of a color as some of these examples, this is just to show you how you can use color contrast to bring focus to the door. (Removing the shutters and adding the window boxes, helped with your update!)

I like the painted brick much better. One suggestion, I would paint the garage door the same color as the body of the house. It doesn't have any architectural details and stands out too much as it is. Also would suggest painting the front door, just about anything goes with taupe. How about a beautiful barn red or paprika color?
