I like your idea of a sectional and I don't like (almost hate) sectionals. Low back means easy to turn your head and look out the window. Have you considered two sectionals? I don't like sectionals because what does the person in the middle do with their elbows? I like leaning on a couch arm. Two sectionals one side won't be so long, then fewer people in the middle.

Agree, don't paint the walls. Do get larger art work with black or no frames.

Sorry furniture is not mine. And none staying. Just something to sit on. Anyone look at the floor plan re the potential sectional I want to order? It is huge. But I think will work. . Room room is large. Can post a picture of the sectional but modem low profile simple ... In a neutral fabric which reads grey in poor light and green in the sun. Thanks for help !!!

Your idea of the large sectional sounds good to me, but I agree with a previous poster who suggested strong colors for the room - and I always prefer neutrals! If you go with the gray sectional are you planning to add color with pillows, and artwork? You might think about painting the room just through the doorway from the living room. The white walls look stark next to all the wood. It looks like you have a fun project ahead of you! I hope you post pictures so we can see what you do.

If it were my cabin, I'd want a matching pair of sofas facing each other over a coffee table, all perpendicular to the FP. I'd place a pair of low back swivel chairs at the window that could turn to see the view or to the FP and sofas for conversation. If there's room, the chairs could be closer to the sofas to make a tighter "U" and a bench would work at the window for enjoying the view. Consider flanking the FP with a pair of sturdy, rustic chests with mirrors above them to reflect the view and draw in light.

You could put a swivel armchair and get the best of both worlds. You could put a bookcase with lots of books for those breaks away.
