I think it is kind of cool but it doesn’t really go with your style that I can see the mirror is all wrong to hang over this fireplace so I would get a piece of art and hang it not centered on the wall but to the left.but I really think the best thing would be to get rid of all the surround and start over with it because it really doesn’t work with your stuff.If you redo it the T.V. could go beside th fire box and look great.

Is the fireplace wood-burning or gas?
How far should we suggesters go?
Would you like to keep the fireplace or are you open to eliminating it completely?
Can you take picture of that corner of the house from the outside so that we can see how the chimney works?
Is there a basement?
Does a furnace also use the same chimney to vent its combustion gases?
