If you want to add backsplash, you will have to remove the stone backsplash. I love simple white subway tile.

Thank you for the feedback. Subway tile was my first option but I am trying to see if I can do a non-white backsplash. more like a combination of white n grey and glass like the one trinevig suggested but less of the metak.

What are you going to do with all that space above the faucet? Tile to the ceiling? Is that really the focus of the room? This might be an argument for living with the 4-inch backsplash you have and finding a soft gray paint for that wall instead.

You brought up a good point. I have been debating about making it a focal point but adding something that pops like a frame or some art work as overall the colors dull in the kitchen area. That way I didn't need to add tiles over the sink till the ceiling.
