Kitchen design and Layout

We are doing a kitchen remodel and would like your help. I have included an option below with dimensions but would l really like your expert advice and creative ideas and feedback to improve it. Almost everything can change. Appliances can be moved, the island re-sized (and kind of island should I have, solid level, multi level, collapsing), and anything you feel should be done.

I love the Houzz community and really value your expertise, creativity, and vision; things I just don't have. Thank you very much

The area where the walk in pantry is way too small. Why would you not put it over by the stair case. If you keep it where it is, loose the cabinets in favor of a larger walk in pantry.

HI -- Move the fridge location so it is left of the sink and d/w to beside the door . This way the working elements are closer to each other and more efficient and you are not dodging around the island between sink and fridge . Then expand the pantry taking up those end cabinets where you showed the fridge . Have the pantry door face into the kitchen . This should work better for you.

Thank you for the advice. The pantry is a tight fit, where near the staircase would you put it?

HI -- Keep the pantry where it is but expand it by taking over the floor space of that cabinet area and have the pantry door where it shows the fridge on the plan .

played with moving the fridge to the sink wall. I think it would stick out too much and be too close to the window and overall disrupt the aesthetics of the space

HI -- Then try the fridge at the end of the cabinets to the right of the stove , - then it will be beside the new pantry wall . You have the room for this I think .

I wouldn't think of the pantry as "walk-in". That is a huge waste of space that you can't spare. Try designing a "pull-out" pantry instead, then you can leave the opening where it is and take advantage of the depth of that closet.
