for Decorative Philosophy

Start with figuring out,what in each area that you won't be changing.Such as,if the existing flooring,fireplace tiles and furniture will not be changing...then,work off of and with them. Enhance what you have to work with. Pay close attention to,how each area receives natural light (or not) and ceiling height,etc...also,it's easy to soften large furniture pieces with glass tables around them (won't look so weighed down.) Then,think about using an oval rug for a lighter look as well. Another easy fix is,changing kitchen chair pads. Either,by using slip covers,tie back pads or having them professionally done. Wide plank wood floors would look great there! I hated my ugly fireplace tile (it was actually ugly 12" by 12" ceramic floor tiles.) So,I spent about $150.00 dollars on new tile and with free labor from my boyfriend...huge easy fix! Have fun with your space!

Thank u for great ideas!! This furniture is from previous house and Spanish style is prob incorrect way label but house has tile roof and it's open space gives a warm feel. I will post more pics for detail of home.
