pumpkin or squash?

Hello, my 4 year old daughter and I decided to grow veggies this year. We usually only do flowers and herbs.. and occasionally green beans or tomatoes. We planted dozens of pumpkin seeds and various squash or gourd seeds. So far, there's one plant that seems the biggest and most successful. Problem is, we have no clue what it is!! So, my question is.. squash or pumpkin?

Ps, we may have gotten a little too ambitious and play over planted. A few this are too close together, I think. So far, it hasn't disrupted any growth or yields.. we've harvested plenty of broccoli, cauliflower, rhubarb, peas and green beans already.. I hope this mysterious plant does well, too! I'm secretly hoping it's a pumpkin plant because I love pumpkins .. thank you in advance, your helps most appreciated.

That's a C. maxima species plant, which is a pumpkin or winter squash variety. Those plants are gigantic!!

Oh no! I probably don't have enough space for it there then.. will it grow in crowded conditions?

Ccabal, I think I figured out exactly what it is.. thanks to your comment. I researched c maxima plants and read a list of different things within that species.. one of the types of pumpkins that is considered to be c maxima is "jarrahdale blue pumpkins." We planted jarrahdale, sugar baby, Cinderella and pink porcelain doll pumpkin seeds this year.. apparently the former is part of that category. Didn't realize it'd be so large when I bought the seeds on etsy, but now it makes sense why this plant is bigger and taller than all the others. I was wondering why this one was more than 6x the size of the others.. I thought maybe I'd put extra compost of fert in the area it's in. Thank you again.. I'm hoping to have many blur pumpkins this year!!

Cindarella is also C. Maxima. I grew some last year, and have also grown C. Pepo varieties such as sugar pie pumpkin, and I recognize those blooms as C. Maxima blossoms. My plants last year grew almost 30 feet long by the end of the season. It will grow, but it will basically smother everything else and run into other parts of the yard.

Yeah, this definitely looks like a pumpkin plant, I have some planted and they look a lot alike. If you plan to plant this again, you should probably give it more space.
