The ceiling . . . .

Being the blonde I am I couldn't find a comment section. But I just wanted to say that this is a beautiful kitchen and I love the doggy diner, but I really DO NOT like the ceiling. Just my preference . . . . .just saying!

There are companies that sell (new) tin ceiling tiles in many sizes, colors and patterns. A quick Google should find you several to choose from!!!

To mickrome - Cherry and copper would look stunning together, just make sure there's plenty of good lighting in the room. Lots of windows will help during the day but obviously not at night, and adequate task lighting is SO important in the kitchen. Adding glass door cabinets with interior lighting would help too.

Technically I think this IS the comments section, so no worries!

The ceiling would not have been my personal preference but each client is different and the client who owned this home loved this look. The hardest thing about being a designer sometimes is remembering that your work is for them and not for you. You and I may have selected something different but we don't live there!

Having said that, it's very striking in person and does add a nice touch. The entire room is filled with wonderful textures and is very warm and inviting.

I have to agree that the ceiling doesn't flow with the kitchen but it's amazing. I'm planning on going with dark cherry or even dark brown cabinets with a copper ceiling. Thoughts?
(Kithchen and family room is surrounded with windows)

I personally like the ceiling! Where did you find it? It's very retro...we have a tin ceiling in an old bldg. we own & I love it!

Thank you! And adding glass door cabinets is a great idea. I was planning on replacing the wider ones with double thinner ones to give the appearance of being "taller". This will help in not having to find doors that exactly match the others.
