Kitchen Make-Over

We bought this house and a day later I tore into the kitchen. The avocado green just wasn't working for me. Tearing the island down to be level and adding bump outs, spraying all the cabinets and ordering counters. I wanted to keep it neutral so my accessories could change and depict the colors. We were on a budget so changing the stoves to stainless will have to come down the line. Happy with the results despite all the stubbed toes and cut fingers! I am loving working my way through this house and blogging it all!

Renae wonderful job on your kitchen reno. I feel the reno pain and can relate to you. We went through a few bathrooms, kitchen and hardwood floors ourself. But we love the end result that makes us bliss with happiness and how quickly I forget all the dust and the pains we faced getting to the final result. Here are some pictures of our kitchen.

Did you paint the cabinets yourself or contract it. Curious about the cost and love the look

I painted them. After sanding I rolled the bases (with a smooth roller) and then sprayed all the doors and drawers. I used an air sprayer with my compressor. The trick is to use a thinner like Floetrol. You will have to do a few coats and let them dry well in between in a dust free area. It cost me about 60 bucks in paint and 60 bucks for the sprayer. I love them! It was worth the hard work!

    Good Luck!!!

Isamuel71 I looked all over and can't find the name of the color the kitchen walls are. I had bought a 5 gallon bucket and the color code isn't on it anywhere. It's a very light gray. To be honest though with grays you really have to see a sample in your own home. The lighting of your home can really change it to blue or lavender. I would get some staples and paint some patches so you can see the color during the day and in the evening.
