Hi Rikki, mangos have a long tap root and do best in deep containers. I usually wait for them to have at least 1 flush and then move them to deep 3 gallon containers where they can stay for some time depending on environment. As always- growing them inside has its own challenges. Best regards, Chris

p.s nurseries usually have some of the deep pots laying around and might give you a deal.

occhris is right... deep pots are best.

they all look overdue for a larger container. if you want a somewhat straight taproot that will keep them from blowing over in the wind when they get big.

i would try to give them some direct sun if at all possible. just remember they need to acclimate slowly... and they will dry out faster in sun, so - i put mulch in my containers...

i think with a Poly seed, the second one is the "true" one. if i remember right.

Ataulfo i believe come pretty close to the parent anyway. i have 7 or 8 i am growing from seed as well.

Anyone has an update on their ataulfo seedlings - how big are they now, any of them bloomed yet? I just started an atlufo seedling and intend to grow it in a container for good.

Thanks Stan.. . I don't mind six years..I am guessing it might be even longer in a pot indoors in winter. But then I have houseplants that are 10 years or more in my care that will never produce anything ;) Please update on the progress, if the fruits hold....good luck. Here is what mine looks like now. What I learned is best results are if you start SEVERAL seeds and out of those pick the fastest grower to keep. Can save you years of one at a time and then it dies.
