I have a peach tree that was supposed to be a dwarf but may just be semi- or even full size! How much can I prune to keep it in bounds? Can I keep the top cut back & side branches to try & keep it shorter & how much pruning of the side branches can be trimmed back & not cut off the fruiting ? Does the fruit set on new branches/tips or only on the older ones? Is this true for both apple & peach trees?
