Where would you put the TV in that setup?

A fireplace should be located such that the convection of heat coming from it would have the greatest beneficial effect. There will come a day when a homeowner won't have a sectional sofa for which the placement of a fireplace is being decided. Perhaps such a temporary situation shouldn't dictate something so permanent.

FP is a focal point, so you may want to leave it where you have it so it is the first thing seen when people enter the room. You can counterbalance it with the TV on the opposite wall. I'd put bookcases/display shelves on the right end wall. Place a sofa perpendicular to the right side of the FP and two swivel chairs perp to the left side, all seats facing each other over a large coffee table that is centered on the firebox and TV. Sofa and two chairs are more flexible than a sectional, especially for locating the TV. You could locate the TV on the right wall (above a credenza) and float a sofa facing the FP with a pair of swivel chairs with backs to the nook. Bookcase/display shelves could fill the wall opposite the FP to counterbalance it. Another option would be to use a chaise sofa - smaller, but if you get one with a flex chaise that can be reversed from right to left, your arranging and rearranging options will really open up.

@decoenthusiaste - the "nook" is where you enter, so when you enter the room, the fireplace is on your left side. Does that make sense? Do you think it still makes a focal point there? Or would it be a better focal point on the right (in front of you upon entering)?

I'm more trying to decide how to put FP and Tv over specific furniture.
