Remove all the large leaves with a knife or clippers. You can leave a few of the underdeveloped ones at the tip. The petioles will eventually dry and fall off. Most people let cuttings sit and callus over for a week or two, then plant.

Thank you, Dave. I thought leaves should be removed, but wasn't sure. Yes, I will let it dry and callus over before rooting.

Side note - this is not the first branch hubby has produced. I was in Ohio helping my mother when the last one occurred. He put it in water to root. And it rotted, of course. Well, at least he tried to do something! And I am going to have to watch him trim the bushes!

Oh well, at least in South Florida they probably grow like weeds, right? And plumeria branches can be somewhat brittle. Not a big deal. I've had plants in pots tip over and lose branches, so you are NOT ALONE!

And your husband is doing some work outdoors around the house. So, good for him!
