Hi everyone! I am new here and new to gardening this season. I have a small vegetable garden. I have several varieties of veggies including, sweet potatoes, squash, tomatoes, green beans, and bell peppers. So far everything is growing well and I am able to tackle any small issues I have encountered. Yesterday, I noticed what looked like a weed in the middle of my sweet potatoes. I was getting ready to yank it out, but it had rose-like thorns on the stems and I didn't have my gloves. I have searched everywhere and I cannot figure out what this is. The closest answer I got was that it was some sort of weed connected to the potato family, but the information trailed off. I have about 3-4 of them only in the sweet potato area and they are NOT connected to any of the vines. Does anyone know what this is? Is it a weed or somehow part of the potato? Is it harmful? HELP! :)
