The morning sun is fading my sofa and rug, and waking up our weekend guests. I want to enjoy the view once everyone is up but the ceiling slope is giving me fits. Any suggestions for curtain styles?

Are the paned upper part of windows a problem as well as the lower half? I would look at roman shades. They make all kinds of window coverings that can accommodate all shapes of windows. They can roll up or down for opening to view. The window is beautiful, Do not cover with drapes.

It would be sad to cover that amazing window, not to mention the view!! I would leave it alone...your guests will just have to adjust.

I'd get some kind of blinds made that can be drawn and night or when you leave for the day and keep the morning sun from baking everything. But make sure they can be drawn right up to the top so you can enjoy the view when you're there and awake!

The window is beautiful. There is a window film that will address the UV fading issue and there might be one that also blocks enough light - while still maintaining the view - that your guests can get a little more sleep. The new ones are not like the old, wrinkled, peeling type. Another possibility to block the morning sun is some kind of lightweight frame covered with blackout fabric as a base and a second attractive layer if you think that is necessary, maybe in two or more pieces - that hangs over the window at night so guests can sleep late - and can be stashed someplace during the day. It might not be gorgeous, but no one is looking while they are asleep and the guests will appreciate the thought. You need someone with a little creativity to figure out how to construct it so the pieces are lightweight and can be mounted on unobtrusive "brackets" on the window frame or wall. Think night time only function, not decorating for 24 hour use. Good luck!

Window film is often the best option for odd shaped windows. Here is an example of one of the darker products available for maximum glare, heat and UV rejection while still allowing you to keep your view. It also lets your guests sleep in a bit by reducing the morning light.

I would use cafe curtains on rings on the bottom half.
