Take a picture of the full view of the room to help us get the whole picture. It is hard to tell with just clips of spaces between furniture

Can you sell the beds and buy bunk beds?

As far as the color for the bedding and accessories, I would keep it real simple because the wall color is pretty loud. Maybe white with teal border/stripes and some red pillows.

Can you post a wider picture of the room or the room's dimensions? I'm thinking you can rearrange the furniture but would need more info to be certain. Love the bold paint colors. There are tons of bedding options. I would choose bold bedding as well. I'll post some examples (while you take additional pics or measure the room).

Just realized you painted the door. I would paint it a single color. Since it's already a bold color, I would paint the entire door teal.

I think a large graphic design like the first photo would work nicely because the color is tempered with white and is not too busy. I would seriously consider putting beds on a Craigslist of sorts. Sold as new, you should get your money back... Hopefully.

Either follow DC's advice for keeping it very simple and elegant, or look for floral/paisley design incorporating the wall colors such as this one. I'd be very careful with any type of stripes because of the border on the wall.

Photos of the whole room would help, as well as measurements and layout.

It makes sense to stay with paisley but I'll have to find something for my son. So I'll be more specific. My son is 13 and big boned which getting a bunk bed couldn't be an option due to his weight. My daughter is 10, so she's easy to work with. Originally, the full sized bed had a twin trundle underneath it when we saw it, but I figured that if I was going to purchase a bed and if I wanted it to last I'd get another full instead of the trundle. Also the price between a twin bed and a full bed was a mere 20.00 dollars. Also, I have family coming and figured they'd all fit on full beds instead of twins. Anyways, the pictures I took were minimal because right now the room is a mess while we're trying to figure out to do. So please overlook the messy room, and here's some more pics of it.

Here's more angles of the room. The dimensions of the room is 11 ft 5 inches wide and 12 ft 3 inches long, if that helps any.

I couldn't tell which was the longer wall (window?). I also wasn't sure which wall contained the entry door so I created several options, hopefully one of which is right.

Thanks for the additional pics BTW. Seeing them reaffirms that you need to paint the closet door a solid color. It's too distracting as is. I can't stress enough what a difference painting the door will make. When you're done painting, add curtains. If the bedding on the two beds is different, stick to simple white panels (both curtains below are from IKEA). If the bedding on both beds match, then you can afford a solid color curtain.

Gella81, the 2 doors in the pictures are the closets. Other than that it's just the one long window. I'm lost as to what to do because there is no space left for anything. One of my thoughts was to purchase some cubes and put them in their closets, at least what I can fit in there...lol! I have nothing on the walls for the exception of their tv. My husband warned me that there wasn't going to be enough room, but being a woman I had to have it my way. It obviously was a bad move, and I should've, could've but didn't get a smaller bed. I'm obviously not going to admit that to him, for I know he'd say I told you so!!

er612, there are 3 doors. 2 of them being the closets almost close to one another and one in the entrance.

Well, given that admitting you were wrong is not an option, we need to make it work. Right? :-)

gella81, I didn't add anything else on the pictures as there is no room for dressers or bookcases. Do you think I went wrong with the bold colors. I'll definitely take into consideration repainting the door solid teal, should I also do the same thing with the 2 closet doors? I appreciate all your advice, and I'll definitely keep everyone posted with pictures. I'm probably still going to ask for more advice along the way. Once again thank you!

Nanette, how many posts do you have going? I count four. It is not fair to everyone who is trying to help you.

I think you need to decide on the furniture layout at this point, buy some bedding (you might not get it right on first attemp), and start getting a feel as to how the room will look in its final configuration. Doors may be repainted at any later point, it should not be such a messy job.

Does any of the schemes er612 did appeal to you? We're still missing the location of the 3rd door, so cannot judge their feasibility.

I think I got it! Have you considered removing the closet doors? Then you can put one of the beds closer to the closet. Here are some options:

Those colors do not work in that small room. Paint the walls a very nice beige. Paint the doors and trim white. Get rid of the brown window shades. Get bedding that can be used for your daughter and some for your son. Then we can better see what the room looks like.

Advira, if I had the extra bedroom I wouldn't have to put them in the same room. They were sleeping on the couches in the living room, which ruined them. The kids are in no circumstance to close the doors much less lock the doors in their rooms. I appreciate your concern though!!

Here are some other options. Since the beds are more like full size day beds, the backs can serve as dividers (you can also put a taller board between the beds if they're back to back for more privacy).

You mentioned cubbies and closets. I've used the easy track closet system for years now. It is very easy to install and can be configured in countless ways. It looks so nice that you wouldn't need closet doors if you didn't want them. Also, I agree that the doors should be painted one solid color.

As for your kiddos sharing a room - we must all do the best we can with what we have. Ignore hurtful comments like that. It seems as if you are getting a lot of great advice here. Don't worry about the multiple posts. You'll get the hang of houzz.

Great advice Emily! I couldn't agree more. Nanette - Does your son have a lot of hanging clothes? If not, it might be worth sacrificing access to one of the closets. Then you could purchase underbed storage boxes (the long plastic ones from Target). I used them when I lived in a studio and found them extremely functional. The best way to use them was by putting the lid face down on the carpet and putting the container on top. This way you don't have to pull the entire container out and remove the lid to get something out. Having the lid on the bottom also makes them easier to slide in and out from under the bed.
