I love privacy and being able to see out when I want and also to control the light coming in. So I always choose top down/bottom up shades. They come in a zillion fabrics and can work with all styles. There are many price points to choose from. You also can combine them with fabric curtains to soften the look.

As much as I usually prefer fabric window treatments, I think that your windows call for bifold wooden shutters...natural like the woodwork.
