Are you an avid gardener? If not, cut back the landscape to a few flowers and grass. You want to limit bushes around your home as they're a fire hazard.

@shivani_joy_gulati I don't think there is enough room in the car port area to convert it into a garage. At the moment, that space can only just fit a small 4 seat car and even so the driver's door can only open half and no room for the passenger side door to open. The car off the edge of the picture is my neighbour second car that barely get use. Thanks, I will have a look at landscaping my front garden.

@hayleydaniels I'm not a keen gardener, but having a nice front garden look does contribute to making the house a bit more attractive. At the moment it looks kind of rough but I can't put my finger on it.... I don't think bushes will catch fire here in the UK, it is not hot enough ;)

Everything looks overgrown, but I think the main problem is the tree in front of the front door. I would remove that entirely.

Your house is fairly symmetric and with an eye catching roof. Have you thought of painting the wood trim a different neutral color to make it stand out a bit more and maybe the door a stand apart color?

I see a small tar roof between first and second floor, limiting sun in the afternoon if it faces west. Small boxwoods (year round) along the front, interspersed with roses (spring/summer) and azaleas (spring), all kept below the windows, would look nice. Alternatively, a nice deep evergreen bush like otto lucken yields small white pretty flowers. You don't need many as they are wide and sturdy. Then below them in a bedding you can put flowers and perennials.
