Thursday Performance

Wednesday was a washout. It also rained today, but not till 11:30. Hard to imagine that in May I was worried about a drought.

Point of Divergence

World Collides

On Wednesday, the only complete washout of the week, Cerise Masterpiece decided to appear, a dwindling plant.

Julianna Lynn does okay here. Not a large flower.

Spring of Living Water, a Korth. Okay.

Ancient Royalty was especially dark on this morning.

This year, Ruby Lipstick is the best I have seen it.

A bee on Blazing Saddles

Sara Christine makes her appearance, big time, with blooms like dinner plates.

I like all these blooms! But I love, love, love Ancient Royalty. My favorite daylilies are those with white edges. I loved it so much I looked it up, ready to buy it. But the description and pic say burgundy with gold edge. Is the color off in your photo - looks lavender to me? If it is accurate, I'm thinking this looks more like Korth's Earth and All Stars. The other Korth intro, Spring of Living Water really grabbed me too. Why do you say it's just okay? I'm glad Ruby Lipstick is doing well for you this time. You know I love that one and also Blazing Saddles. The clumps of Point of Divergence, Joan Derifield, and Sam Abell look amazing too!

Spring of Living Water has a nice pattern, but the color is not really vibrant. Ancient Royalty varies between burgundy and a more bluish tone. You can see in the picture that the base color is a burgundy hue. I remember that Korth showed me his pictures before I got it, and his too varied. I have yet to get the darker burgundy that is in his pictures. It has not seen enough hot sun for me to know how it will hold up, but it does have a rebloom scape. (Initial bud count wasn't great, but acceptable for here.) Here is how it looked on other days. The white edge is very prominent, but the flower's base color is not really saturated. I will check the color in coming days. Cool weather changes hues, and the camera may have had a bluing effect in low light, but I have seen purplish hues on some mornings.

I like Julianna Lynn quite a bit. You picture of her reminds me of Wild Cherry Wine. The stats on her are very good too (5 1/2 inch bloom isn't that bad) although I wish she was not an evergreen. How has she wintered over for you?......Spring of living Water also catches my eye...........Maryl

mantis: are the Korth intros in pots or in the ground?

Maryl, Julianna Lynn has wintered well. The Korth intros have overwintered in the ground.

I especially like Point Of Divegence (I have it here too and it is quite the bloomer, but hasn't started here yet this year), Ancient Royalty and Ruby Lipstick. Thanks for sharing your pics!

Many beauties, as usual, Mantis. I like a lot of them. Ruby Lipstick is quite lovely. The two clumps, Joan Derifield and Indy Long Legs are real attention getters. Your Sam Abell really looks good.
