The best way to select a paint color for a room is to buy sample cans of your favorite 3 or 4 colors to paint onto 2 foot by 2 foot poster boards to place around the room at different times of the day. I would start with a paint sample folder of different shades of white. It is surprising haw many colors can be found in a folder of whites. Perhaps a very light teal or sea blue would be a good start.
