Sherwin Willians Sale this weekend

Was at the paint store today looking at samples and a little birdie told me that Friday starts the 40% off sale. I have seen nothing on their site but if you were planning on getting some paint this weekend might be the right time.

Just checked on this sale and it is 7/17 - 7/20. I have not used this paint before. It seems they have 3 types of acrylic latex- Emerald, Duration, and Super Paint. Anyone have recommendations? I was thinking of purchasing the paint untinted until I select a color.

I had my kitchen done by pro painters earlier this year, and they said the Emerald was the top of the line in their opinion.

I have not used the emerald but I am VERY happy with the duration. I have the matte finish and it has held up very well. Super paint is okay, I use it in a rental. Its durable but I like the duration for my own home. Its a great idea to get the paint un tinted and then tint it later. A word of caution though, make sure that you get the correct base. SW has 3 bases I think and each is for different color ranges. They are also having 30% of painting supplies caulk brushes rollers etc.

There is also a $10 off $50 or more printable available.

Thanks everyone. Did not realize you could use coupons along with the
sale! I will be purchasing the paint this weekend. I will be sure to ask about the different bases. I have a kitchen
that overlooks into a combo. dining /living room area and then proceeds
upstairs. Will probably be asking about neutral color suggestions once I
take some pictures. I tried this once before but did not get many
suggestions. Perhaps because my photos were too dark. I am most
familiar with Benjamin Moore colors and have their fan deck, but would
be open to any suggestions- You seem to have this down to a science,
and I am afraid that color selection is not my strength.

At least at my store, they will sell you the paint un tinted, but if it turns out you need a differnt base they will just switch it out. So just point to a few swatches that are the sort of color you want and they will sell you the can but if you decide on a different color, no big deal. So don't stress too much on that aspect of it!

I just painted a room in emerald and it seemed fine. But I don't have a lot of painting experience. I think my next room I may try Cashmere. It's supposed to be the easiest to work with, but they told me Emerald was more durable and covered better.

Thanks Butternut! I will look at both when I am at the store-

Thanks for posting about this! We got ceiling white, trim paint and Acanthus and attached our entry way today!

I am a big fan of the Duration, and today bought some of the Emerald to try it on the rental I'm renovating.

I used super paint in a few colors and they turned out really well. Paint was easy to work with. Painted one room in cashmere because they suggested it was better with very dark colors. It was thicker and a little harder to roll, but leveled to a nice finish when it dried.

I painted my DR with Super Paint and it turned out great. Ive been stocking up on paint when they run the 40% off sales (5 gallons for down stairs & 2 gallon of Repose Grey for guest room) so whenever I get time I can finish painting the rest of the house.

IMO, Cashmere is the best consumer use product at SW.
