but if you just did it ... this is why summer is not a great time ... odds are.. you will severely shock about a third of the stock you move now ...

the problem is.. we dont know how you slaughtered the roots on this particular plant ..

regardless ... keep it properly waters ... and otherwise ignore it ... and i bet it will survive ... though you might have some die back ...

one thing for sure.. its stressed.. not hungry.. no fert .. and on Ls in particular.. ever ...

Ken is right, as usual; transplant shock and possible root damage in the transplanting - keep it watered and wait it out. Don't fertilize it, as tempting as it is, please; it just needs to grow new roots.

It was transplanted in late May. It seemed to be ok, although a little more sparse than the other two, until about a week ago and then it seemed to drastically change. Thanks for the heads up on not fertilizing it b/c that's what I was thinking. I will wait it out, it's still green under the bark so still some hope. Thanks. Ken means lilacs. In general, a non-fussy plant. If you have green grass in your yard, it will easily support lilacs.
