Is there any way to convert your existing linen closet into hallway closet (outside the bedroom)? If the back of the closet is on the wall that in the hallway you might be able to close it off from the bedroom side and open it up from the hallway.

I love the suggestion, DC Interiors & Renovations, but unfortunately that is not possible based on the configuration of the room.

Our linen closet is quite small and we don't have enough storage in the bathroom, so we are using the linen closet for storage and have a large armoire in our master for the linens. I also like to fold laundry on the bed, so it's an easy put away as well. Hopefully you have room for an armoire somewhere in your home. my 1870 house has no linen closet at all. there is also no closet at all on the entire first floor. of the 5 bedrooms, only 4 have closets, and of those 3 are shallower than a hanger. victorians used hooks! how nice for them.

i have the second set of linens in a basket on the closet shelf of each of the bedrooms. the bathrooms have small cupboards that hold towels. out of season bedding is in big boxes in the attic. its amazing what one can adjust to.
