Bathroom opinions needed

I have been reading advice on Gardenweb for so, so long - but this is my first post. Kind of neat, at least to me.

We are redoing our very small bathroom, which has a tub. The tub will be a Duravit Architec and I'm happy with that choice. The apron of the tub will not be tiled.

For the floor, we picked out New Ravenna fishscales. The color will likely be Chartreuse, which is a pretty bold green.

For the wall, we will have a soft white glass subway tile. The tile is long and narrow, not chunky. All one size.

I've attached the look I'm hoping to achieve (sort of), but the tile will be soft white and the fishscale-floor will be a bold green.

Questions:

(1) My kitchen has a deep, dark green honed granite countertop (almost black) and a mint glass backsplash (all one piece of glass). Am I silly about worrying about repeating the color green for the bathroom floor? It's our only full bathroom. I thought about a grey floor, but I love color. I cannot afford the blue stones.

(2) Will tiling the bathroom from floor to ceiling in the ENTIRE bathroom with a soft white, long subway tile end up being a huge mistake?

This is the custom vanity (it will look a bit different, this is the general idea)

My kitchen reno was so much easier...I keep second guessing my bathroom choices.

Add onto this a Toto toilet...glass shower doors...maybe a Runtal towel warmer.

Shebyroo, glad you found your voice! I just wanted to say that I also have the Duravit Architec. It's a nice tub.

Shelbyroo, what do you mean if we "click" your name. I did this but there is no kitchen ? Your kitchen sounds fun with color.

I think your bathroom will be fine in a green. The juxtaposition of glass and ceramic might be really nice. I like your concept vanity too.

My house tends to have a theme of green and blue walls of varying degrees from whitish to light mid tones. In both my bathrooms I have some nice contrast of texture and pattern. But colors pretty much blend within the room. For example when I was picking out my flooring and shower wall tiles I put together 2 patterns that the saleswoman was surprised with. I loved the combo. It just struck me as a "go together" group. By the end of our conversation, she came around and decided she liked it too. What I am trying to say is that I think combinations can be fun and surprising.

When push comes to shove, my favorite color is green.

I would to love to hear more about your kitchen backsplash. I was considering glass for mine (new construction) and your the first person I have seen on here with it. Is it back-painted? How did you get the green color? How difficult was the install, and how is it held in place? What are the pros and cons? Thanks in advance for all your advice!

It is not backpainted - it's the color of the glass. The piece behind the stove is a separate piece bc it is made to handle the heat of the oven.

There were all different colors to choose from. The guy who did it is a stained glass professional in the Philadelphia area -- I will try to go back and find his name for the name of the product. One of the pieces broke during delivery and they replaced it immediately. I could not be happier with it. It is so easy to clean. I think he used some type of epoxy (?) and then a clear caulk (which I've had to re-caulk once near the sink). My banana holder is metal and I do have to remind my kid not to slam it into the glass while pulling off a banana :)

Here it is. I love the traditional dark vs. pale light -- can you tell that is a trend with me (e.g. my bathroom)?

Looking back, I should have had the outlets put in under the cabinets (or glass plate covers) but that little detail is nothing I regret. In fact, doing that may have made it too modern-y.

But seriously -- easiest backsplash ever. It will probably look dated over time but I don't care!

OK, so I found out the the glass itself is backpainted --sorry! I just talked to my guy, Paul Mamolou, SGO Designer Glass.

They use US Color Glass.

Dreamwalls is where I got the original idea but they don't have the tempered glass behind the stove, which is key.
