Choosing a hood for induction cooktop

Hi Everyone,

We are doing our kitchen and we are putting in a 36" induction cook top. We are looking something with low noise and power for cooking odors. I read that for a 36" stove you need a hood that is 6" larger. Is this essential for removing odors? I live in a very cold climate and so I am not really worried about removing heat; just odors. We are thinking about a wall mounted chimney hood because we heard that the under cabinet style does not vent well.

Please help me by giving me suggestions for hoods.
