Need help for a new living room. The room is 20 x 14 with a fireplace at the end of the 20 and an opening in the family room on the other end of the 20. Do I buy one large rug and have the furniture far from the fireplace or 2 smaller rugs. ONe would have a seating area on it facing the fireplace. The other would help protect the floor leading into the family room This would be a matching rug, smaller and turned sideways. I have not moved in so I cannot share pictures.
