Need help with layout and furniture arranging

We are downsizing into this home and I am a little worried as to where to put everything! I need to fit a TV, a wood stove, a ladder, a computer, a pottery collection, lots of books and of course furniture into this living room space.I bought a wall unit that we are intending to paint and turn into built-ins. (The corner piece will be taken apart and turned into a center section).Is the best place for the computer to the right of the window, beside the window seat? I was thinking of building a divider at the front door (privacy from the bathroom and storage from either side?). I saw a really nice stepped cabinet in Johnny Grey's "Kitchen Culture". Or perhaps something to fit the TV? The wood stove is a necessity as it is our primary heat... Please help?

I don't think I'd have a half wall. It will not hide much and might interfere with flow. Keep bathroom door always closed.

I'd have a sectional facing the TV. I'd paint all units the same (white) including units 4 TV and computer. Hold off on buying more furniture. Rooms need space to look good.

Thank you olldj22. I will check into that room planner. My sister's suggestion is to actually extend that (proposed) half wall as far as the doorway to the kitchen (near A), turn it into a full wall, putting much needed cupboards / shelves on the bathroom side, stone or face brick on the side facing the living room, and a lighted display case capping off the end of the wall.We could then put the TV and wood stove on the stone wall. It would actually be a lot like the Upper west side picture above, the TV wall being stone. I am intending to paint out those units (and remove the colonial trim at top!) The ceiling will be pickled pine (a wash of primer, wiped and then a clear coat), so I will be looking for a white that works with that...

A full wall can be useful especially as U have planned it with shelves and stone.

What about people entering the front door? I'd have the wall begin farther down toward the bathroom. & across to form an entry 4 front door people. What about closet space 4 people entering the front door?

The front door as an entry for visitors is really not an issue. Eventually we want to put on a front porch and then the door will exit onto that. The house is on a highway (with a big ditch out front) so I don't see much walk in traffic happening. Our driveway goes up the side of the house beside the kitchen door. That is the door that I am going to paint a bright colour to (hopefully) give people the idea that it's the go-to door. I did initially think about a space to walk through into the living room, but I like the idea that the wall will be anchored at least on one end, and also the less crowded space between the TV and the Fireplace or woodstove (and all that storage will be amazing!) It's really great to have someone's input into this project. This is a whole house gut and reno and I am forever questioning our decisions! Its a bit overwhelming. I would love to afford an architect or designer but that is way out of my budget. Habitat for Humanity Restores have been my best friends! Again....
